Day Optimizer has several features designed for more advanced users:

Formatted Notes
Notes can be formatted using a simplified Markdown syntax, allowing you to quickly bold or italicize your text, or add links, headings, numbered or unnumbered lists or special checkbox lists.

Checkbox Lists
Checkbox lists make it easy to create a list of steps that need to be completed before the task is completed. The next step to be completed will display in the summary view for a task. For activities, checkbox lists define a template that is copied each time you commit to the activity, allowing you to define the steps you do each time.
